About

10890_10154093103786037_7467920188618256882_nHello! My name is Jackson Vickery and I’m a junior at the University of Kansas, majoring in journalism and minoring in film and media studies. Currently, I’m studying abroad at the University of Leicester, fulfilling my lifelong dream of studying abroad. Ever since Lady Gaga’s opening at the 2011 Grammy’s, I have had the strongest passion for the music and entertainment industry. At the end of 2013, I decided it was time to take this passion to the next level. I started out with this idea of posting multiple stories about the music and entertainment industry everyday on Twitter. For a few months, I was researching and posting about half a dozen stories everyday. It wasn’t until the middle of 2014 when I decided I wasn’t satisfied with just posting news stories. What was my next step? Reviewing. So, for the past few months, I’ve been reviewing a variety of singles, albums, and concerts. It has been so satisfying seeing everything I have accomplished this year. However, I couldn’t stop there. And that’s where I am today. PopCultureDaily.guru. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have my own website. But, here it is. I hope that everyone that comes across this page can take something away from what I write or post. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone that has supported me so far. I can’t wait to see where this new adventure takes me.

1624589_1362659200418294_108498828_nI’m Leah Rosenthal, an aspiring writer at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Pop culture has always intrigued me. I grew up in Dallas, Texas, heavily influenced by my older siblings to listen and watch different kinds of music and television. Being an artist myself, I always want to know the secrets behind both popular and obscure musicians, actors, and writers. Living in the city has handed me so many opportunities to get even closer to the industry. With this new relation, I’ve been leaning toward journalism. I’m a very open, honest person and love talking to people. Getting to know people through their art is something I’ve always believed to be important and I’m super excited to embark on this journey!
